VIDEO: Black Lightning

It’s as if my cries for a decent car movie went out and were heard only by communists; which just leaves me scratching my head at the irony. Just a few weeks ago I blogged about a Yugoslavian film called The Belgrade Phantom and now Russia brings us Black Lightning, no not the comic book, a film directed by Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) about a flying, super Volga that battles evil; including a flying Mercedes Benz!?!?!
The story follows a plain, ordinary, Moscow student who’s father buys him the used Russian car. When he learns that it can fly and has cool powers, he himself is transformed from into a super-hero, defender of the city and lady’s man.
Timur Bekmambetov is co producing the film with Universal Pictures and it is scheduled for release on October 31….sadly in Russia.
