HRE Tour

During the Cbad/HRE meet, HRE was kind enough to open their doors to all in attendance and gave an in depth, extremely interesting and informative tour of their facility. For those that don’t already know, HRE creates precision engineered, handcrafted, elegant performance forged wheels; as either a 3-piece design or their new single piece. During the tour they showed us how they engineer and test for durability, strength and rigidity using a Finite Element Analysis system all done on computers before they even go to production. Once in production they forge the wheels in 3 separate pieces from 6061-T6 Aluminum. There’s no aspect of the wheel that isn’t taken into consideration for optimum performance. Even the beautiful faces of the wheels are meticulously cut and carved to optimize unsprung weight reduction as well as to reduce rotational inertia. The customization doesn’t stop at just custom wheel fitments and designs; the customer may then choose from a multitude of custom finish and color options for a personalized look that accentuates the distinctive style of their vehicle before the wheels are hand assemble using either extra-strength steel or titanium fasteners, actually the very essential fourth piece of these 3-piece wheels.

First in their line of 3-piece designs is HREs high performance Competition Series. The Competition Series offers 3-piece forged aluminum (6061-T6) wheels for high performance track and street driving.
